HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!
After weeks (okay… maybe months 😅) of nervousness, overthinking, and a sprinkle of procrastination, I’ve finally decided to dive in headfirst — and today, I’m officially launching my blog and website!
This moment feels so aligned because yesterday, I celebrated another year of life surrounded by love, reflection, and quiet joy. And now, the day after my birthday will always hold even more meaning — it’s the day I gave this gift to you, my beautiful Samsters. From now on, July 31st will always be launch day, a tradition we’ll celebrate together every year.
I spent my birthday intentionally and peacefully — a soulful morning of meditation and reflection, followed by something that’s become a personal tradition: baking my own birthday cake. Sure, I could buy one. But there’s something sacred about gifting myself a creation made with my own hands — crafted with flavors and a design that I crave, just for me.
And yes, I finally finished the cake — and it was perfect. 😌
This year, I made a classic red velvet cake with a well-balanced cream cheese frosting. I chose not to add vanilla or any flavorings that might adulterate the purity of the frosting — not that there’s anything wrong with that — but for me, birthdays are about intentional simplicity, and clean, honest flavors always feel like the right direction. And let me tell you, it was amazing. I felt the love, reverence, and appreciation I have for myself baked into every bite. It was truly reflective and beautiful.Later, my husband surprised me by ordering one of my favorite roti dishes (bless him 💛). Not having to cook on my birthday? A dream come true! I got some well-deserved rest, created a special thank you video for all my wonderful Samsters (SEE IT HERE!), and wrapped up the day with cake, ice cream, laughter, and editing — a perfect blend of sweet and productive.
🌸 A New Chapter Begins...
Today, as I hit “publish” and launch this space into the world, I feel deeply grateful. Grateful for life, for the strength to pursue my dreams, and for the immense love and support I receive from you all.
From the bottom of my heart: thank you for being here. This space was created with love, creativity, and intention — and I’m so excited to share every recipe, thought, and adventure with you.
